| Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety |
Today everyone is busy with their work and occupation and life that no one actually
has the time to ensure that their work places are secure and are free
from hazard. With privatization most of the employees it is not their
responsibility to take care of the health and safety issues as they
are mere employees and it is not their business but this not only increases
risk my many folds but also creates an unhealthy environment which also
hampers productivity.
Most of the people at work have some neglecting behavior with respect
to health and safety at work place like that needs it, we have a policy,
it is the work of HR and not ours, this place has any history of any
such incidence so there won't be any in the future etc.
Data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics reveal that nearly 40%
workers in industries have faced work related injuries. Even though
industrial workers are always more prone to work related hazards still
those working in offices also needs to have a proper mechanism to prevent
and fight any such incident. A fire safety drill should be organized
in every office every month to remind new and existing workers about
safety paths along with do's and don'ts do's during any such accident.
The fire extinguishers should always be inspected every fortnight about
the quantity of the CO2 level as many extinguishes are either empty
or have bare minimum gas to fight a fire accident.
Along with a strict HR policy employees should also understand that
their safety is first their business and then for the company so if
they find any lapse in the security measures in their work area, it
must be reported directly to the concerned department and must get rectified
like if there are incidents of sparks coming out of a particular power
joint, it must be reported and attended immediately.
Such basic measures would ensure safety is maintained for the employees
at their work place and no unpleasant accident happens which could pose
a threat to the life and property of the employees and work areas. And this is why certificate iv in OHS is an assistant.A Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety BSB41407 is now the minimum requirement for OHS management in most Australian workplaces.

It is very necessary to have some knowledge in giving quick first aid to the person at workplace. Conservo Safety is planning to have perfectly safe workplaces.
